Redhorse Constructors actively pursues contributing to the built environment through “green” measures. Several projects constructed by Redhorse have sought to achieve conventional building practices through sustainable materials, methods, and strategies. Often driven by the client’s interest, successful green projects combine new systems and product experimentation with challenging “everyday” use requirements. Our dedication to these ideals produces buildings that blend the natural and built environment, substantially reducing resource and energy use while providing a sustainable residential development model. Our Green construction methodologies at site include such areas as: 1) Recycling existing materials (timber, windows, appliances, etc.) from buildings to be demolished 2) Avoid using chemicals or pesticides which may leach off into groundwater 3) Minimizing jobsite waste 4) Protecting trees and topsoil during construction 5) Use of wind powered water pumping systems when appropriate 6) Increase demand for building products that are manufactured locally when applicable As public demand for green construction increases, Redhorse welcomes the opportunity to implement sustainable building techniques and practices. |
