Tiburon Residence

Situated high on the hillside, this residence in Tiburon takes full advantage of a spectacular panoramic view of the bay to the East and Mt. Tamalpais on the West.  Architect Stanley Saitowitz designed the house as “a perforated wall between these vistas, ending on a promontory at one end and a knoll at the other.”  From the inside, the house borrows from the exterior landscape blurring the boundary from the interior to the exterior.  Materials used on the exterior include stucco, wood, and shotcrete landscape walls.  The southern face of the house is equipped with “eyebrows” which provide shade and protection to the terraces which lead into the garden.
