A New Approach to Sustainable, Cost-Effective and Climate-Resilient Housing
The pilot project on the UC Davis campus is a demonstration unit modeling the concepts of sustainable design, innovative systems and materials, efficient production and install, and inclusive financing and how these can be incorporated into future housing to produce more affordable and climate-resilient structures.
The building’s foundation, walls and roof were constructed in 3 days, and the finished structure hosts 17 different technologies that provide solutions in energy efficiency, fire resilience and protection, space optimization, low-carbon building materials, and more.
